Dreams fuels that spirit craves. It is important to dream for each one of us on earth because dream permit each of us to be quietly and safely insane. With such high dreams , with the same aim to meet the educational requirements of Police children and to a limit extent civilian children the then DGP Mr. Ved Prakash Kapoor and Mrs. Swarn Kapoor laid its foundation and started Police Modern School, Gomti Nagar, Lucknow in 1993-94. Which was inaugurated by the then Chief Minister Mr. Mulayam Singh Yadav.
In 1995-96 by the inspiration and efforts of Mrs. Shashi Arun wife of the then Additional Director General , PAC, Mr. Sri Ram Arun, gradually Police Modern School started opening in battalions of different districts.
The school is run by a society named as “Uttar Pradesh Police Shiksha Samitee” through the fund known as “Uttar Pradesh Police Shiksha Kosh” This fund is collected by deducting Rs.10.00 every month from every police person which is called “Ansh Daan”.
Truly said ones we are successful in making the dream begin to grow, it will gradually take shape: it will expand and fill the space provided. Commencing at a primary level with only 42 students. Police Modern School rapidly grew into a high school in 1998-99 and intermediate in 2000-2001 with science and commerce stream. For the smooth functioning of the schools Central Directed Board at Central level and Local Management Committee at local level are organized.
